Dalian Yifang join race to sign Salomon Rondon

Dalian Yifang join race to sign Salomon Rondon West Ham have been dealt a potential blow in their pursuit of West Brom striker Salomon Rondon this summer. Sky Sports are reporting that Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang are interested in signing the forward. This will come as bad news to West Ham as Rafa Benitez recently took over as manager of the Chinese club, after working with Rondon at Newcastle last season. Benitez led Newcastle to a midtable finish in the Premier League last term before leaving upon the expiry of his contract. Rondon spent last season on loan to Newcastle from West Brom and scored 11 goals in 32 league matches for the club, with West Ham looking to add him to their squad.

According to Sky Sports, Odubeko has rejected a new contract offer at Old Trafford and looks set to leave this summer. Newcastle are one of five sides interested in the teenager, with fellow Premier League outfit Burnley, Dutch sides Feyenoord and Utrecht and Serie A side Genoa all keen on the forward’s services. Newcastle are

He ended the campaign on 11 goals in all competitions, but with only three in his last 20 appearances for Hoffenheim.

Newcastle are in desperate need of a striker after losing Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez – their two top scorers – from last season and Joelinton’s stats suggest that he will be unable to replicate their form.

The Brazilian is still young, at 22, but Newcastle need proven quality right now – rather than in a few years time. They could be in a big fight against relegation next season and this signing, albeit for a club-record, will not change that.

So, to answer the question. No, it does not appear – on face value – that Joelinton is worth the money Newcastle are reportedly paying for him.
