Concussion ruled the NBA’s tallest player out of Boston Celtics’ season-opening match after he hit his head on a low ceiling.

Tacko Fall, an imposing 7ft 5in in height at the age of 23, hit his head following a training session - while trying to wash his hands.

The Senegalese centre, one of the tallest men to ever play in the NBA, reportedly felt fine immediately following the knock, saying he thought nothing of it.

He reported feeling ill the next morning, though, and entered the league’s concussion protocol.

Fall, though, was not expected to play against the Sixers - although he did travel with the team to Philadelphia. He is currently seen as a development player who will spend his season working in the NBA’s second-tier G League.
