Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel has mocked a rumour he has heard that he will quit Formula 1 now the 2019 season has ended.

The Ferrari driver has a deal that runs until the end of 2020 but there has been speculation over his future since the start of this year, ahead of his first campaign alongside rising star Charles Leclerc.

That has been compounded by a difficult season in which Vettel made mistakes, whereas Leclerc scored Ferrari's first victory of the year, won the team's home race at Monza, scored more poles than any driver and beat Vettel in the championship.

However, after the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he finished fifth, Vettel brought up a rumour he was poised to leave F1 when asked if he had any idea about what he would like to do from 2021 onwards, once his current deal has expired.

Vettel smiled and said "holiday" and then, unprompted, added: "I think I was already doing a holiday next year.

Opinion: Leclerc must be prioritised at Ferrari

Opinion: Leclerc must be prioritised at Ferrari Monégasque youngster has more to give than his older teammate Vettel - it's time for Ferrari to recognise thisHe could and should have won race two in Bahrain, where the car let him down. In Monaco he was quickest in final practice but Ferrari banjaxed his race by not sending him out for a second Q1 run, which left him qualifying only 16th.

Hamilton added that Ferrari already has “two great drivers” in four-time F 1 champion Sebastian Vettel and the highly promising 22-year-old Charles Leclerc. Wolff added that “conversations are going to begin” with Hamilton over a potential new contract, without giving details as to when.

Vettel only won one race in 2019, the Singapore Grand Prix, and he was aided by Ferrari's strategy favouring him over team-mate Leclerc, who had been in control of the race from pole.

He scored another eight podiums over the season, including second in Canada having finished first on the road before being relegated by a time penalty, and Vettel's results amounted to fifth in the championship - his worst result since joining Ferrari in 2015.

But on Sunday night in Abu Dhabi, Vettel underlined his intentions to continue in 2020, even joking that "less interviews will help!".

Hamilton marks his 250th grand prix with F1 season finale victory

Hamilton marks his 250th grand prix with F1 season finale victory The 2019 Formula One season ended in familiar fashion as champion Lewis Hamilton prevailed in his 250th grand prix, winning in Abu Dhabi. In his 250th grand prix, Mercedes' six-time world champion qualified on pole for the first time since July's German Grand Prix and eased clear of the field to claim an easy victory at the Yas Marina Circuit.

And that was underlined by Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc colliding at the Brazilian Grand Prix last time out. However, Vettel and Leclerc did not cross paths with one another until they arrived at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Four-time world champion Vettel skipped media day as his wife gave birth to their third child so it was not until after the first two practice sessions he was quizzed on his relationship with Leclerc.

The 32-year-old did seriously address his season and areas he wishes to improve for 2020 but responded mischievously again when asked to comment on speculation linking Ferrari with Mercedes' world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Like Vettel, Hamilton is out of contract after next season, and over the Abu Dhabi weekend one report claimed he had met with Ferrari's chairman during this campaign, while Vettel's team boss Mattia Binotto said Hamilton's availability could only make Ferrari "happy".

"I think he's already a Ferrari driver," said Vettel. "No? So no change.

"I think he's a good customer. He owns more than one."

Ferrari 360 rally car hides amazing secret beneath its skin .
For starters, it's not actually a Ferrari. With good reason, you might be tempted to believe this is some sort of Ferrari 360 GT, 360 Challenge or any other motorsport-spec version of the Modena adapted to go rally racing. However, that’s not actually the case at all. Proving looks can indeed be deceiving, this prancing horse that loves to go fast on a gravel course wasn’t built in Maranello and it’s not actually a Ferrari at all underneath its 360 Modena skin.
