The Paris Marathon was meant to take place on Sunday 5 April. with an estimated 65,000 runners taking to the streets of Paris. At the beginning of March, the marathon was pushed back to 18 October, but due to the ongoing pandemic, on Monday, the race was moved back again.

In a statement, race organisers said, 'In order to organize the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris in the best conditions possible, we have decided, in consultation with the City of Paris and the Paris Police Department, to postpone the date of the race.
