Atletico Madrid 1-0 Real Betis: Costa seals Champions League spot for 10 men
Mario Hermoso's red card made life difficult for Atletico Madrid but Diego Costa ensured they will finish in LaLiga's top four.Atleti looked destined to hold on for at most a draw after Mario Hermoso was shown a straight red card for a foul on Loren Moron, but substitute Costa steered home Yannick Carrasco's free-kick in the 74th minute to secure a top-four finish for Diego Simeone's men.
Costa not only missed the last three league games from Juve against Sampdoria (Sun., 9.45pm), in Cagliari (Wed., 9.45pm) and the season finale against AS Roma on August 2nd, but also the second round of the second leg of the Champions League on August 7 against Olympique Lyon - then the old lady wants to turn a 0-1 at home from the first leg.
If the Italian record champions get ahead, it is also not clear whether Costa can be there at the final tournament in Lisbon. That should only be decided after an examination in 15 days. In the quarter-finals, the Bianconeri could face Real Madrid or Manchester City.
