"Stef did a great job," says Catsburg. "He gave me the car in the lead and I just had to defend it. The second half of the race was easy and a lot of fun."

wet track at the start of the race

fourth place went to the KCMG-Porsche # 18 (Dumas / Olsen / Imperatori), fifth place went to the Phoenix-Audi # 20 (Vervisch / Drudi / Winkelhock) before the second KCMG-Porsche # 18 (Liberati / Burdon / Olsen).

The Firkadelli-Porsche # 30 (Bleekemolen / Martin), the CarCollection-Audi # 44 (Dontje / Ortmann / Winkelhock), the Huber-Porsche # 25 (Holzer / Rocco Di Torrepadula / Kolb) and the GetSpeed-Mercedes # 23 ( Schiller / Hill / Shoffner) completed the top 10.

After it had rained during qualifying in the morning, the track was still wet at the start of the race. With the exception of the Walkenhorst BMW # 34, however, all cars from the top group entered the race on slicks.

Four of London's biggest pantomimes postponed until 2021 amid reopening uncertainty

Four of London's biggest pantomimes postponed until 2021 amid reopening uncertainty Four of London's leading pantomimes have postponed their shows until 2021 due to uncertainty surrounding theatre reopenings. Hackney Empire, Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch and Theatre Royal Stratford East have announced they will not be producing their annual pantomimes this year as usual. With production on the pantomimes originally scheduled to begin in August, theatres say they have had to postpone without a definite date from the government on when theatre performances can resume without social distancing.

Thrilling duel between Schiller and Olsen

In retrospect, Jensen was not very happy about the tire choice after the race. "We stopped early because we started on the cut slick. We certainly lost a bit of time in the stint, even if David was able to make up some positions in the first laps," he says. The eventual race winner, Catsburg, interjected: "The choice of tires was very difficult because it was still wet. I just wanted to keep it on the track."

The starting phase was marked by an exciting duel between GetSpeed-Mercedes # 23, which started from pole position, and KCMG-Porsche # 19. Fabian Schiller and Dennis Olsen fought a thrilling duel, in which the leadership switched back and forth several times. Especially on the Döttinger Höhe, slipstream battles occurred repeatedly, at which Schiller got a warning because he had changed lanes several times.

Since both vehicles were unevenly filled and Schiller and Olsen were by far the fastest pilots on the respective cars, both teams fell behind in the further course of the race and could not intervene in the fight for victory.

Relaxed second half of the race for Rowe

Then the Walkenhorst-BMW # 34 and the HRT-Mercedes # 6 fought for the top. However, both cars had already driven into the pits for the first time after four laps and therefore drove in a different rhythm. Adjusted for pit stops, the Rowe-BMW # 99 was already in front at this point.

"Nick did a great job at the start," said Dusseldorp, who drove the second stint. "When I drove out, I was close to the Porsche and Mercedes and with a bit of luck I was able to overtake on the first lap. Then I opened a small hole, and that was it. The car was great, the tires were good."

The lead defended the car even after the last pit stop 30 minutes before the end of the race, so that Catsburg only had to drive the victory to the finish. In the fight for second place, Müller caught up at the wheel of the HRT Mercedes in the final phase to the Walkenhorst BMW, which was no longer in perfect condition at this point.

Once again, no luck for the Konrad team

"We had a small braking problem and had to take care not to overburden the brakes in the last hour and a half," reports Jensen, who ultimately finished second.

Chelsea active for Nick Pope (Burnley)

Chelsea active for Nick Pope (Burnley) Chelsea management are said to be very interested in the profile of England goalkeeper Nick Pope in this summer transfer window. In search of a new goalkeeper, the Blues are reportedly determined to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga for the next season. Signed for € 80million two years ago, the Spain goalkeeper is reportedly resentful of the latest rumors about the arrival of a replacement.

The Konrad-Lamborghini # 7 (Jefferies / Di Martino) was once again not happy about racing. On course for a top 5 result, Michele Di Martino lost the rear of the car in lap 11 in Breidscheid and hit the concrete wall backwards. The Schnitzer BMW # 42 (Tomczyk / Farfus) had to retire before the race day after an accident during the test on Friday.

The Nürburgring long-distance series continues on August 29. Then the season highlight of the NLS is on the program with the 6-hour Ruhr Cup race.
