Jose Mourinho says Manchester United will make at least one more summer signing, and wants the deal done soon - but he is not yet prepared to discuss if Paul Pogba is the player in question.

Mourinho has urged United to sign his final priority target before the start of the Premier League season.

The club are understood to be finalising Pogba's £100m transfer from Juventus, with the France midfield star currently finishing his holiday in the USA and preparing to fly to England.

United played out a drab goalless draw with Everton in Wayne Rooney's testimonial at Old Trafford on Wednesday but, afterwards, Mourinho refused to confirm anything other than that Pogba is still a Juve player.

MANCHESTER UNITED manager Jose Mourinho has hinted that he won't be making any more signings this summer. United completed a sensational £89million move for Paul Pogba earlier today, bringing the Frenchman back to the Premier League four years after letting him go for free.

He said: "We are going to sign one more player, that's for sure.

"I don't want to speak about Paul Pogba because he is a Juventus player and I don't like other managers speaking about my players. I don't speak about their players.

"But the reality is we are going to sign one more player. The market closes on August 31, so we have plenty of time to do that, but obviously I would like to do it before the Premier League season starts."

Mourinho will take his team to Wembley next for the Community Shield match against Leicester this weekend.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ on Wednesday, former United star Phil Neville insisted Pogba is worth the potential world-record £100m transfer fee.

But it remains to be seen whether the 23-year-old will take part in the clash with Leicester on Sunday August 7.

Five reasons why Manchester United were right to pay Pogba fee .
Paul Pogba is officially back at Manchester United, having made his transfer from Juventus official in the early hours of Tuesday morning. However, whilst there’s little doubt about the Frenchman’s extreme talent, the player’s sizeable transfer fee has left some remaining unconvinced. The £89 million fee has certainly divided opinion, with former Reds like Phil Neville applauding the transfer whilst Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness was amongst those who questioned the fee. The opinion amongst football fans in a broader sense seems to have been equally divisive. The fact that Pogba is merely a midfielder, and therefore won’t be aiding United’s cause with tonnes of goals and assists in the same way an expensive new striker would, has also impacted fans’ perception of the 23-year-old’s value. You’ve probably already heard the reasons why Pogba isn’t worth his £89 million price tag, so now it’s time to acknowledge why the Frenchman is in fact worth his fee.
