The social media page's bio changed to include the numbers '16:03:11:09', along with an emoji of a home. Bale's first three shirt numbers during his first stint at Tottenham were 16, 3 and 9.

And now it's been confirmed 9 is his new shirt number.

The number was last worn by Vincent Janssen and has been vacant since his departure in 2019.

Meanwhile, Spurs also announced the signing of Bale's Real Madrid teammate Sergio Reguilon on a permanent basis.
