20 players Celtic could possibly target in pre-contract January deals

20 players Celtic could possibly target in pre-contract January deals Celtic managed to bring in six players during the summer transfer window. AC Milan left-back Diego Laxalt was the final addition, arriving on a season-long loan deal. The Uruguayan joins Vasilios Barkas, Albian Ajeti, Shane Duffy, Moi Elyounoussi and David Turnbull through the door at Celtic Park, and the Hoops’ recruitment team will more than likely be turning their attention to the January window. The turn of the year also gives the club the opportunity to explore pre-contract agreement deals with players who are out of contract at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Hi Bhoys and Ghirls,

Neil Lennon here. You may remember me from such official Neil Lennon calendars as Official Neil Lennon Calendar 2013 and Official Neil Lennon Calendar 2014.

Today, however, I'm not here in my capacity as the only manager working in Scotland about whom you can say 'Mind that time he released his own range of official merchandise including a mouse mat with his face on it? I'm serious, give me a second to get it up on my screen'.

I'm here as an investigator.

You may have read my comments in the aftermath of Celtic's 2-0 defeat against Rangers on Saturday. I told reporters: "Somebody within the club is doing us in basically and that's disgusting I think.

Sean Ono Lennon on remixing father's music: It was therapy

Sean Ono Lennon on remixing father's music: It was therapy NEW YORK (AP) — Sean Ono Lennon’s first experience re-working his father’s catalog was terrifying and intimidating, but he had two main goals in mind to keep him on track: Preserve his father’s message in the songs and help the late icon’s music reach a younger audience. On Friday, which would have been John Lennon’s 80th birthday, “GIMME SOME TRUTH. THE ULTIMATE MIXES” will be released and includes 36 tracks hand-picked by Yoko Ono and Sean Ono Lennon, who serve as executive producer and producer on the project. "We'll try (to get to the bottom of it) and work at it. It makes my job a lot harder."

I stand by every word.

Someone is doing our club in, and I've spent the last 24 hours attempting to find out just who is responsible.

My findings may shock you.

THE PLAYERS

You would think playing against your fiercest rivals in the knowledge that a win would send you top of the league when you're chasing a historic tenth successive title would be enough to motivate you.

I watched most of that game yesterday (Missed the first goal due to a snus-related mishap) and there was no drive, determination or belief.

I've no idea whose job it is to motivate those players, but whoever it is needs to take a good look at themselves.

THE TACTICS

Tactically outwitted by Steven Gerrard again? Being dominated on your own turf by a Rangers side that pretty much strolled it and didn't even have to get into top gear? Not forcing Allan McGregor to make a single save?

Four Findings: Celtic 0-2 Rangers

Four Findings: Celtic 0-2 Rangers Celtic dropped their second consecutive Glasgow Derby defeat to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers on home turf. Neil Lennon was forced to deal without Odsonne Edouard, James Forrest, Ryan Christie, Nir Bitton, Hatem Abd Elhamed, and Christopher Julien. With the long list of Celtic absentees, this opened the door for a rare chance for 20-year-old Stephen Welsh, who joined four others from the Hoops in making their Glasgow Derby debut as Diego Laxalt also got his first start since coming on loan from AC Milan.

a display in a store: There’s no feeling quite like a victory in a derby match against your most hated adversaries. These are the games that decide who laughs last and loudest in the office, classroom, shop-floor and forum. These are the games you love to win and hate to lose. They can make or break your season – longer, if you’re in different divisions. A quick note on inclusion rules. We've stuck to club teams and we haven’t chosen any team twice: no matter how many foes you despise (or how widely hated you are), you’re only allowed one mortal enemy. The vast majority of these derby rivals are geographically close – the same city or the one just up the road – but there are some exceptions. Oh, and for each fixture we've listed the teams in alphabetical order: no, we don't think they're a bigger team than you.

I've no idea whose job it is to settle on the tactics, but whoever it is needs to take a good look at themselves.

POST-FERENCVAROS MALAISE

This year's catastrophic Champions League qualifier defeat to Ferencvaros was the club's most catastrophic result since last year's catastrophic Champions League qualifier defeat to Cluj.

Since the Ferencvaros defeat in August there has been a malaise around Celtic Park, and that's manifested in a series of uninspiring performances.

Would Celtic have been able to attract and afford a better class of player in the most recent transfer window had Champions League qualification been secured? Would there be a mood of optimism around the club if there were Champions League ties against Barcelona, Dynamo Kyiv and Juventus on the horizon?

Yes and yes.

I've no idea who's being paid handsomely to beat the likes of Cluj and Ferencvaros, but whoever it is needs to take a good look at themselves.

Lennon pledges to get Celtic back on track after big game defeats

Lennon pledges to get Celtic back on track after big game defeats A 3-1 defeat to AC Milan in the Europa League followed a crushing home loss to Rangers and marked the club's first back to back defeats since December 2018. A late header from Mohammed Elyounoussi raised hopes of snatching a point before Milan sub Jens Petter Hauge tied up the points in injury time. © Provided by Daily Mail Neil Lennon has vowed to get Celtic back on track following a week of big defeats Under growing pressure from supporters ahead of Sunday's trip to on-form Aberdeen, Lennon urged his players to blot out external noise after insisting they will come good.'They have to ignore it.

SCOTT BROWN

Celtic's captain has been an incredible servant. He's inspired so many great occasions in the club's recent past.

He's also past the point when he can regularly influence big games. On Saturday he was quieter than the post-match Twitter output of the guy who tweeted: "This win on Saturday will be the sweetest of the banter years. Squad decimated with the virus, media in full Rangers bravado mode etc. We are going to scud these dumplings."

It was predictable too. He contributed nothing against Ferencvaros, and contributed nothing against Rangers.

And yet, he's still the first name on the teamsheet for these must-win games.

I've no idea who decides to keep starting Scott Brown and leave promising options like David Turnbull on the bench, but whoever it is needs to take a good look at themselves.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon blames his side's defence

Celtic manager Neil Lennon blames his side's defence Now six points adrift of Rangers after another dismal day for big money loan signing Shane Duffy, Lennon bemoaned the loss of eight goals in three games. 'I'm disappointed not to come away with all three points. When you are a manager and you score three goals away from home you think you are going to win the game.'There is a little bit of fragility with a few of them. They aren't playing with a major amount of confidence.

THE FANS

Embarrassing Champions League exit last year. Derby defeat at Celtic Park last year.

Embarrassing Champions League exit this year. Derby defeat at Celtic Park this year.

What do those four results have in common? That's right - they're not as bad as some of the results that occurred in the '90s.

Thankfully, there are a number of Celtic fans who will accuse anyone who expects their side to beat teams from Hungary or Romania of being greedy and immature, and will excuse abject performances like that witnessed against Rangers on those grounds.

I've no idea who's immune to criticism from large swathes of the support regardless of how inept the performances he gets out of his players are, but whoever it is needs to take a good look at themselves.

THE EXCUSES

There may have been players missing due to illness and injury, but enough money has been spent on that Celtic squad to make them favourites for these games.

I've no idea who presides over a strikeforce comprised of a forward who cost Southampton £16m and a striker bought for £3.5m this year and watches the entire team fail to muster a single shot on target, but whoever it is needs to take a good look at themselves.

SO, WHO'S DOING CELTIC IN?

Could be anyone really.

Obviously this piece wasn't actually written by Neil Lennon. Seriously, come on.
