Liverpool are the latest club to send scouts to watch 17-year-old Icelandic wonderkid Isak Bergmann Johannesson after interest from Manchester United and Juventus.

The highly rated midfielder has already become a regular starter for Swedish side IFK Norrkoping and has contributed three goals and eight assists in the Allsvenskan this season.

According to Swedish outlet Expressen, the Reds sent scout Mads Jorgensen to watch Johannesson against AIK on Monday with Norrkoping resigned to the fact they may lose the talented youngster.

Sam Allardyce comes out with some rather strong words regarding Liverpool and VAR

Sam Allardyce comes out with some rather strong words regarding Liverpool and VAR Sam Allardyce believes Jurgen Klopp should demand an explanation from the officials, following last weekend’s Merseyside derby farce. Liverpool drew 2-2 away to Everton at Goodison Park last Saturday, on an afternoon that saw the Reds robbed a number of times. Virgil van Dijk’s season has likely been ended by a dreadful Jordan Pickford tackle, but the goalkeeper somehow wasn’t sent-off for the challenge. Jordan Henderson was also denied a famous last-gasp winner, when it looked as though Sadio Mane was in an onside position, despite being given offside by VAR.

And having gone on trial with United, Liverpool and Everton, the wonderkid looks set to join compatriot Solskjaer, 45. Tromso sporting director Svein-Morten Johansen has held talks with Old Trafford chiefs and the deal is believed to be being finalised.

Last week, Swedish newspaper Expressen reported that 90 scouts went to watch Isak in action - and now it's even more. AIK tweeted to say 122 scouts were in attendance to watch the teenager in AIK's 2-1 home win over Hacken in the Swedish top flight. Liverpool were among that number, along with

'A club with a lot of money may appear tomorrow or in six months. It is good that Isak is calm and has a good counselor and family. Norrköping has no stress.'

Johannesson's father is former footballer Joey Gudjonsson who had spells with Aston Villa, Wolves, Leicester, Burnley and Huddersfield. His grandfather is Gudjon Thordarson who managed Stoke City and Crewe Alexandra.

Johannesson has made two appearances for Iceland's Under 21 side but was born in England in 2003, while his father was playing for Villa.
