Sport Celtic's latest Dean Henderson link could impact Fraser Forster
Southampton should consider cashing in on Forster this January
Former Leeds United man Noel Whelan has urged Marcelo Bielsa to make a move for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster in the January window. The 32-year-old is yet to make an appearance under Ralph Hasenhuttl this season, with the towering shot-stopper becoming the club’s number two behind Alex McCarthy. Talking exclusively to Football Insider, Whelan addressed the Whites’ goalkeeping issues, eventually naming Forster as a possible January addition at Elland Road. “I would like to see a more experienced goalkeeper signed in January. Fraser Forster’s name has been mentioned, I would like to see him there but he is on massive money at Southampton.

Saints should sell Forster if they manage to seal Savin move
Southampton have been linked with a move for Accrington Stanley goalkeeper Toby Savin. Reports last month suggested that the Saints were ready to make their move for the 19-year-old ahead of the January window. Savin has kept four clean sheets in 12 fixtures for Stanley this season and is already part of the England set-up after being called up to the goalkeeping development camp at St George’s Park last year. Meanwhile, a ‘keeper who isn’t getting minutes on the pitch is Fraser Forster. The 32-year-old was wanted back at Celtic over the summer but decided to remain with Southampton in a bid to become Ralph Hasehuttl’s number one.

The 32-year-old is reportedly on £70,000-a-week on the south coast – the club’s joint-second highest earner alongside Ryan Bertrand.
In that case, Forster has picked up around £5.67m since his last competitive Southampton appearance.
He has 18 months left on his current deal, and after failing to overtake Alex McCarthy as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s number one so far this season, it could be of the best interests for all if Forster moved on in the New Year.
However, following Celtic’s links to Henderson, a return to Parkhead may not materialise.
Why Celtic board is giving Neil Lennon time - but how long has he got? .
There was a visceral reaction from sections of Celtic’s fanbase to the hardly revelatory news that Neil Lennon retains the backing of the club’s board. © Neil Lennon is down but should not be counted out just yet as Celtic manager (Photo by Alan Harvey /... Indeed, the uproar to the club’s recent travails – exemplified by the need to stage a late two-goal comeback simply to scrape a draw at Easter Road – was best articulated by a rival Pemiership manager in private recently. The mania over 10-in-a-row, he said, was causing people “to lose their ****” in demanding Lennon’s head on a platter.
