Even a penalty awarded by national player Timo Werner could not prevent the English top club Chelsea from making it into the FA Cup round of 16.

The Blues prevailed in the 4th round despite Werner's miss against second division Luton Town with 3: 1 (2: 1). The match winner was Tammy Abraham with a three-pack (11th / 17th / 74th).

Werner had the chance to make the result clearer in the final phase after a foul on himself, but failed with his unplaced shot at goalkeeper Simon Sluga (86th). The former Stuttgart and Leipzig had initiated the opening goal. In the next round, the Blues have to play at second division FC Barnsley (February 9 or 10).

Werner was the only German in the Chelsea starting XI and played through. Kai Havertz came on (77th), Antonio Rüdiger sat on the bench for 90 minutes. Jordan Clark (30) had shortened for the outsider in the meantime.
