Rutherglen Glencairn boss Willie Harvey has been busy re-signing his players for next season.

Harvey’s focus has been strictly on keeping his best players and 12 of his first-team squad have already agreed to new deals.

Six of those players have put pen to paper – including Scott McLellan and Keirin Coleman – and Harvey is pleased by the progress.

“A lot of clubs seem to be offering new deals very early and I understand that because there will be loads around in the summer.

“We want to see where we are with our current players before deciding on our approach in the summer.”

It will be a busy summer for clubs with players looking for fresh challenges after the most difficult of years.

Harvey admits he’s in talks with potential new signings but doesn’t expect any movement soon.

He said: “We’ve no new signing news. You can’t really sign new players at the moment because contracts generally don’t expire until the end of June.

“It’s all down to whether clubs are willing to just let boys go and cancel their contracts now.”
