Bellator MMA veteran Derek Anderson found himself on the receiving end against British striking supremo Michael "Venom" Page at Bellator 258, but stayed positive despite suffering a damaging defeat in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Anderson was prevented from going into the second round by the cageside doctor, who inspected the American's badly broken nose sustained when he caught a head kick from Page directly to the face in the middle of the round.
That kick briefly dropped Anderson to the mat for the second knockdown of the fight. But, on both occasions, he bounced straight back up to continue the action as he attempted to push the pace on Page.

But one look at his nose between rounds was all it needed for the fight to be stopped as Anderson fell to his first ever stoppage loss to strikes in 21 fights.
After the fight, a disappointed Anderson shared an update with his friends, family and followers via his Instagram page as he revealed the broken nose was only the latest of a series of setbacks that befell him in the course of the matchup.

Page, meanwhile, paid tribute to Anderson after the bout as he hailed the American's toughness.
"He's a tough guy. I really do respect that guy. Very tough, young guy," he said.
"He will be back. One hundred per cent I know that. We'll probably end up meeting again and it will be a different fight.
"I'm used to tough guys. Tough guys are only good when they can hit their target.
"Strength means everything when you can land it but it means nothing when you can't, and that's my whole thing."
