Galtier’s links to Spurs have been sporadic but, if chairman Daniel Levy and co wish to make him a priority target, ESPN may have dropped a little boost.

With the 54-year-old seemingly close to quitting Lille, his stance of being eager to manage in England could put Spurs above the likes of Lyon and Nice for his signature.

Known for his aggressive high press, Galtier’s formation and tactics have been likened to Leeds’ Marcelo Bielsa – potentially evidence that he could fall into the category of a ‘young’ and ‘dynamic’ manager wanted by Steve Hitchen at Spurs.

Tottenham could certainly do far worse than Galtier, and ESPN’s update could come as an incentive for them to strike.
