His second year in Spain ended in glory too, with Atletico securing their first league title since 2014 on the final day of the campaign.

Trippier's start to life in Spain was stalled after he was handed a ten-week ban by FIFA for an alleged breach of betting regulations surrounding his move to Atletico from Spurs.

The Bury-born star soon came back into a purple patch of form however, with Trippier becoming a key member of the squad under boss Diego Simeone and playing a total of 68 games.
