Speaking after the league fixture in Bedfordshire, Swansea boss Russell Martin showed his full support for Williams.

“It’s a tough thing for anyone to take. But for a young guy who’s come here, who’s playing football and actually trying to compete, for that to happen, it just completely threw him. And I completely understand that," said the head coach.

“You saw in his first game for us that he’s going to be fantastic. It’s just a shame that this is still going on. It’s ridiculous, it’s nonsense, and it’s disgusting.

“Hopefully we get it dealt with in the right way and that person never comes to a football match again.

“It’s something the players are having to face, people are still having to face and we’re still having to deal with.

He will spend the duration of the 2021/22 campaign with the Swans.
