‘I’ve been a bit critical of Aaron Ramsdale, but he was outstanding today,’ Merson toldafter the win.
‘I can see now… he took pressure off the team. He looked confident, he was catching balls.
‘No disrespect to Sheffield United but he was having 15 shots against him a game. Today he had a couple of shots and he made the right decisions.
‘He made a great decision for the backpass. Ben White was still a bit shaky, he goes to pass the ball back to Ramsdale and it’s well short.

‘But Ramsdale comes out and gets his foot to it.’
Arteta, meanwhile, praised Arsenal’s resilience after they kept Burnley at bay and climbed up to 12th in the Premier League table.
‘It was a hard-fought victory at a really tough place. You have to be ready for a fight,’ he said.
‘In the first half we had some really good periods when we were really dominant and should have scored more goals. In the second half we gave the ball away cheaply too many times.
‘We have players who are not at their strength playing in this type of game, but they did their best and we got the win.
‘I’m very proud of them defensively and I’m really pleased with the win. It’s two wins in a row, two clean sheets. Let’s go again. We have a lot to catch up!’
