Fans excited on social media as Leon Bailey returns from injury ahead of Chelsea clash Aston Villa travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday evening and they’ll have Leon Bailey available for selection after he returned to training in the week. The 24-year-old has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since Villa’s opening league game in mid-August, but Villa confirmed on their official website that he’s back for Dean Smith. Supporters on social media saw a clip on Twitter of Bailey training ahead of the Chelsea clash and can’t wait to see him in action this weekend. The Jamaican international made an assist in his only Villa appearance and will hope to add to his tally if he features on Saturday.

Aston Villa forward Leon Bailey , who scored one goal and set up another in a 3-0 win over Everton at the weekend, is ruled out for at least three weeks. Bailey , 24, was named man of the match despite only playing 21 minutes, having come on in the 61st minute. Villa hope he will be available to face Wolves on 16 October. Bailey will miss the club's trip to Manchester United this Saturday and a home match against Tottenham on 3 October.

Jamaican winger Leon Bailey won the Aston Villa faithful's hearts on Saturday with a 21-minute cameo that included his first goal since his big-money move from Bayer Leverkusen. Bailey , a 25 million-pound summer signing, was introduced as a substitute in the 61st minute and he sparked Villa into life with his electrifying pace. Bailey did not last much longer, however, limping off with a tight thigh he said was caused by his powerful strike. The Jamaica international, who joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen in August for a reported 25 million pounds ($34 million), is targeting a return to action against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Oct. 16.

"Leon has a strain which is likely to keep him out until after the international break," Smith told reporters.

"We would be hopeful that he would be available for the Wolves game but we'll need to assess him nearer the time and see how he progresses over the next 10 days or so."

Midfielder Morgan Sanson will be out for about a month after picking up a hamstring strain in their League Cup shootout defeat by Chelsea.

Smith's side travel to Manchester United on Saturday before an away trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Oct. 3.
