Man Utd legend Gary Neville fires title warning to Liverpool despite Wolves thrashing. The Sky Sports pundit has given the Champions' rivals hope in the race for the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp’ s side have picked up four wins from their last six games without their star defender and sit joint top of the Premier League alongside Tottenham. The Champions’ most recent outing saw them demolish Wolves 4-0 as they welcomed back 2000 fans at Anfield for the first time since last season.

Jurgen Klopp has issued a warning to his Liverpool players that Manchester City will arrive at Anfield all guns blazing on Sunday following their 'outstanding' midweek match against Paris Saint-Germain . 'Or in three or four situations when they didn't use their chances. But when you think about the quality of the PSG team and then the way Man City dominated them, it says a lot about the quality.' Klopp insists his team must be on top form, though is quietly confidence that his high-flying Reds can stand up to the occasion.

Liverpool have been warned that one of their top players still remains destined to depart Anfield and their best efforts to keep him will see one of three clubs sign him.

Mohamed Salah has ripped up all kinds of records since arriving on Merseyside in a bargain £36.9m deal in summer 2017. But with the Egyptian’s contract expiring in summer 2023, talks have rumbled on over a new deal deal. Liverpool are desperate for him to sign an extension to ward off interest from Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

They also want him to follow in the footsteps of Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson by penning a new deal.

Gary Neville says Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola now faces “the biggest job that he has probably ever had in football” to win the title back from Liverpool . Neville adds the Reds will have taken a big boost from yesterday’ s events. Guardiola’ s men defeated to Leicester City with a 5-2 score. Neville said: “[Man City] were so good in the opening 25 minutes but as soon as Leicester broke on them a couple of times, you felt that, psychologically, it just damaged them. “Some of the wounds from last season are reappearing. The bugs that cost them the title. Certainly, you can get at this Manchester

The Liverpool legend made the dig at his Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville . Neville played under Ferguson at Manchester United for his entire senior career. Carragher' s own trophy haul for Liverpool was also impressive, after he managed to win the Champions League, UEFA Cup and the FA Cup during his time as a professional. However, that Liverpool team from yesteryear largely lived in the shadows of their arch-rivals with United enjoying a large amount of their success under Ferguson.

But negotiations between Liverpool and Salah’s entourage are progressing slowly. There have been rumours that the forward wants £500,000 per week, to reward his status as one of the Premier League’s top players.

The Reds are unwilling to meet that salary as they do not want to break their wage structure. This is one of the reasons why Salah’s future on Merseyside is far from certain.

Salah has six goals in seven Premier League games already for the Reds this season.

But ahead of Saturday’s clash at Watford, Gary Neville is warning Liverpool he expects him to leave.

“I don’t think he will stay at Liverpool for the rest of his career,” the pundit said on Sky Sports’ Overlap fans’ forum.

“It’s my personal view. It’s always been that view but I could be wrong.

Jurgen Klopp criticises Gareth Southgate for selecting Man City defender John Stones over Liverpool centre back Joe Gomez for England.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has slammed football' s hectic schedule once again with his club forced to play at Saturday lunchtime without two of their star men. Klopp was also left baffled as to why Liverpool centre back Joe Gomez was not called up by Gareth Southgate for England' s World Cup double header while Manchester City' s John Stones, who has struggled for game time this campaign, was. 'Sometimes Gareth reacts if you are not playing for your club you can’t play for the national team.

“The Premier League would be weaker if he left. I just think you look at someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Kylian Mbappe, it’s not all about the money,” he stated.

“There’s a project and there’s something they have to achieve in their lives.

“They have to play at certain clubs, they have to go and experience certain things.

“I think Salah’s got to experience Real Madrid, the Bernabeu – Real Madrid are going to come back, by the way,” Neville claimed.

“I know it’s not great at the moment at Barcelona and Madrid but Salah is similar to those I’ve just mentioned, I think he has to have that on his CV at the end of his career.

“I think he’s done an unbelievable job at Liverpool. I’ve just always felt he wants a Paris [Saint-Germain], a Real Madrid, a Barcelona and I think he’ll go and get it.

“But I might be wrong.”

Scholes, Carragher disagree on Salah claim

Both Jamie Carragher and Paul Scholes were also on the panel but both disagreed with Neville’s claims.

“The best players are here, it’s the best league in the world now. It’s got the three best coaches in the world, with the best teams,” he explained.

“So if he wants to be the best player on the planet, he has to stay here and Liverpool have to pay him.”

Carragher recently commented on Salah’s future during his punditry on a game and is adamant he will stay.

“I don’t think there’s anyone playing better in the world or in Europe at the moment.

“I know the situation Liverpool are in. They don’t have the finances of Manchester City when you think of the wages they give out.

“But right now, Salah is playing as well as anyone in European football.

“Liverpool cannot afford to let his contract situation drag on, with the threat they could lose him in the next two years.”
