Former Premier League player Dean Windass believes that Steve Bruce has done a fantastic job at Newcastle under the circumstances.

Windass was full of praise for Bruce, telling This is Futbol: “The job that he’s done under the circumstances financially, he’s done a fantastic job. The recruitment that he could bring in, you know he only brought in Willock.”

Bringing in Willock last season on loan massively helped Newcastle, as the 22-year-old scored eight goals in the second half of the campaign which helped steer the Magpies to a 12th place Premier League finish.

Last term’s finish in the league was one point and place better than the previous season, as in the 2019/2020 campaign, Bruce guided Newcastle to 13th place on 44 points.
