The little Argentine was playing in his first 'Le Classique' since moving to the France from Barcelona in the summer.

Messi played the full 90 minutes of the match in the Stade Velodrome and towards the end of proceedings, a supporter entered the pitch and sprinted towards Messi.

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner was in a threatening attacking position when the fan reached him, but obviously had to bring a halt to play immediately once he realised what was going on.

© FRANCK FIFE Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi led PSG to victory against RB Leipzig in the Champions League in midweek. Lionel Messi gets his first taste of French football's biggest rivalry this weekend as Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain travel to face Marseille on Sunday. A few hours after Messi 's old side Barcelona take on Real Madrid in the Clasico, the Argentinian will take to the field at the Velodrome in the fixture known as "Le Classique". It is a rivalry that grew in the early 1990s, when Marseille were the dominant force in French football and, for a short while, in Europe.

Lionel Messi was unable to get off the mark in Ligue One in the fixture but he was involved in one of the game's most bizarre moments when he was chased by a fan while dribbling. On the counter attack in the second half, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner was cutting inside in trademark fashion when an individual PSG summer signing Achraf Hakimi was sent off in the stalemate for bundling over Cengiz Under when last man just before the hour mark. The referee penalised the Turkey international for handball at first but upon looking at the VAR screen, changed his decision and sent Hakimi off.
