Elvis' comments left the audience extremely amused as they screamed his name before he began singing his romantic song. The King was keen to settle the mood around his arrival on the show as he had been hugely criticised for his dance moves. His constant hip gyration left viewers uncomfortable as, at the time, this was an extremely sexual thing to see on stage.
