The Cardiff City headlines you can expect to read in 2022 as big clearout expected and relegation dogfight to dominate Here is what Bluebirds fans can expect to read about next year after another hectic 12 months comes to an endIt has been book-ended by disappointment, it has to be said, but, as ever, there is hope that next year brings a new start and fresh optimism.

Bournemouth are interested in signing Cardiff City striker Kieffer Moore, a report from The Sun has claimed.

Moore joined Cardiff from Wigan back in the summer of 2020, and has so far scored 25 goals in 66 appearances in all competitions for the Bluebirds.

Despite the fact that the Welsh international has struggled in front of goal this season in comparison to the previous campaign, it seems he is still attracting attention from elsewhere.

According to this latest update, league leaders Bournemouth are keen on a deal for the 29-year-old in the current January window.

It is thought that Cherries manager Scott Parker sees Moore as cover and competition for his side’s current top scorer Dominic Solanke, who has 18 goals in 25 Championship games this season.

Liverpool glamour tie and exciting additions give Cardiff City shot in the arm but crucial weeks lie ahead Fan columnist Scott Johnson pens his thoughts on the very important fixtures which lie in wait for the Bluebirds in the coming weeksA record run of defeats, managerial upheaval, a lowly league position and a return to fixtures behind closed doors. There have been moments, but there hasn’t been much fun to be found. This should be fun, though.

However it is claimed that a deal will only be done if the price is right, and that Cardiff want £10million for Moore as things stand. Bournemouth though, would apparently need that fee to be lowered for a move to happen.

There are currently 18 months remaining on Moore’s contract with Cardiff, securing his future in the Welsh capital until the end of next season.

The Verdict

This does look as though it could be a rather useful signing for Bournemouth.

Although Solanke has been excellent this season, you feel the Cherries would be lacking a reliable regular goalscorer if he was to pick up some sort of injury or suspension.

As a result, bringing Moore in could help to fill that void should such a situation arise, with the striker having shown his ability in front of goal at this level on numerous occasions.

However, if he is to be back up to Solanke, than Cardiff’s £10million asking price feels like a lot, meaning Bournemouth may have to look elsewhere if that valuation cannot be lowered.
