Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has reportedly been left out of the squad to face Chelsea on Sunday, with the club ' open ' to letting him leave on loan. The 25-year-old has been left on the bench for the last two games. However, he won’t even be afforded that luxury at Stamford Bridge, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein. He confirmed that Alli has been “ omitted ” from the squad . The report also suggests that Tottenham are now ‘ open ’ to his exit before the window shuts on January 31.

Currently, it’s Ndombele vs Lo Celso to start alongside a more defensive midfielder . Buying a CDM this window would allow Mourinho to use his favored 433 to play both Ndombele and Lo Celso [Alasdair]. Is it not possible to have Lo celso playing on the right like Ozil used to for Mourinho in Madrid. Then have Dele , Ndombele and a DM in midfield . With Dele playing the lampard/kaka role Mourinho loves.

Tottenham are open to selling both Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso in the final days of the January transfer window, with both players omitted from the matchday squad for their derby clash with Chelsea on Sunday, GOAL understands.

Both men have been linked with the exit door at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium under Antonio Conte, with the duo's absence from their vital clash with the Blues at Stamford Bridge the latest indicator that their time with the Lilywhites may be up.

Both players have cut peripheral figures under the Italian and ahead of this weekend's game, Lo Celso further confirmed that his absence was not injury-related, adding fuel to the fire that his days - and those of his team-mate - are numbered.

Hojbjerg is not the type of defensive, tactically disciplined, positional CDM that Mourinho is most likely after . He is more of a three lunged ball winner imo. He may well be signed but would never play as the single pivot.

Dele Alli looks to be moving closer to an exit from Tottenham after he was left out of this afternoon’s squad to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Antonio Conte’s side travel across London to face their city rivals, as they look to build on a dramatic win against Leicester City on Wednesday. The midfielder had hoped to resurrect his Tottenham career following Conte’s arrival but he’s made just eight Premier League starts this term and at the age of 25 he’s now minded to move elsewhere to play regular football.

What has been said?

"Regarding the questions I received, I would like to clear out that I am 100 per cent in good physical condition," the Argentine wrote on his Instagram story shortly ahead of kick-off.

"I have no problem and I feel very well. I wish the best to my team in the derby today."

Lo Celso's words were emblazoned over an image of him and several team-mates laughing together amid a training session.

What has Conte said?

Conte was asked about Alli's future after his side's 2-0 defeat at Chelsea on Sunday, but he refused to say what lies in store for the England international.

He said to Sky Sports: "I don't want to comment on single players. There is the club to make the best decision. There is a sporting director and chairman and they take the last decision."

Why Thomas Tuchel lost it with Malang Sarr as Chelsea defender stars but doesn't solve transfer issue Here are our talking points as Chelsea secured their place in the Carabao Cup final after beating Spurs 3-0 on aggregate in the semi finalSince arriving at Chelsea a little under 12 months ago, the German tactician has reached three cup finals - four if you include the UEFA Super Cup - which is a phenomenal achievement.

DELE ALLI has been AXED from Tottenham ’s squad to play at Chelsea today as speculation mounts over a transfer to Newcastle. The out-of-form England international has only featured in six of Antonio Conte’s 15 games in charge. Newcastle have been linked with a swoop for the England international[/caption]. And he will not be adding to that tally today after the Italian left the 25-year-old at home for the Premier League trip to Stamford Bridge. Now it seems that Spurs are looking to offload Alli before the January transfer window closes as rumours over a switch to big-spending Newcastle mount.

DELE ALLI has been AXED from Tottenham ’s squad to play at Chelsea today as speculation mounts over a transfer to Newcastle. He continued to flourish under Mauricio Pochettino but his form dipped dramatically under successors Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and now Conte. And even though his record of 51 goals in 181 appearances is still impressive, it seems Spurs are ready to sell him on and bring in new blood.

The Italian coach chose not to address the likelihood of new players coming in before the transfer window closes and insists his team's problems cannot be solved just by transfers.

"This is not the right moment to speak, the club know very well what I think," he said.

"There is not one transfer market to close the gap. The last few years this gap became very big and now it is not simple to find a solution in a short time.

"I am only focused to work until the end, we have four months to try and give everything, but if we think we solve with the transfer market the situation, it is not the reality. You need many years, but for sure we have to start.

"You have to sell or loan players and it is difficult and then you have to find the right players for you. You can only start this process but you need many years. It won't be easy, I spoke with the club and am totally in this position of the club to work and improve the situation on the pitch.

'Omds', 'I want this guy first out of the door' - Many Spurs fans buzz as transfer news emerges A whole host of Tottenham Hotspur fans were left ecstatic on Twitter to see the latest transfer claim involving Dele Alli. On Dele Alli, don't think it can be looked at as a snub right now. You work out your bench of 7 players, picking 3 from the many attacking options, including Vinicius, it's difficult to see who he gets in ahead of right now. He'll be back but he won't be the only one to miss out. Alasdair Gold on Twitter just now If Dele could add more defensive quality to his game he would have a much better chance at making the squad . He’s simply such a one dimensional player. Think of everyone else in our squad , they’re versatile and can at least play another position if needed. That versatility gives one a much better

Dele leaving would suck for sentimental reasons, but honestly for the squad it would be better if we had a creative AM in stead of him. Yeah and that is the general problem with r/coys. Too much emotional attachment to players and not enough thinking about the good of the squad . It sucked how Eriksen went out, it was hard to see Jan leave, many still aren't over Poch, but it is what it is. Dele going off on loan or even a permanent move is probably better for his career and is one less story for the media to hound us about.

"I am enjoying my time in Tottenham, we have four months to work and get the best possible result. I am proud of the effort. Sometimes you can push 100% but it is not enough."

Conte continues to reshape Spurs in own image

Since the forrmer Chelsea boss returned to the Premier League to succeed Nuno Espirito Santo following a rough start to the new campaign, Tottenham have undergone a clear identity shift to suit their new manager.

But it has apparently spelled the end for players like Lo Celso, Alli and Tanguy Ndombele, with the latter's tenure as a club-record signing also likely to end this month before the window closes.

The latter looks poised to head back to France, where he originally signed from, with Paris Saint-Germain mooted to be considering a loan swoop for his services - though countryman Hugo Lloris will not join him at the exit, having penned fresh terms in north London.
