It’s not often these days that young players make their name wearing all-black boots. But they are rather suited to Leicester City’s man of the moment Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

There have been a few experiments, but for most of the season, the midfielder has been sporting a jet-black Adidas pair. Nowadays, when a rainbow of colours are on offer to players, black boots are something of a throwback to a bygone era.

Schmeichel hails Pearson influence

Kasper Schmeichel has said that Leicester City are still ‘reaping the rewards’ of the work done by former manager Nigel Pearson.

The now Bristol City manager had two spells at the club, leading City to the League One title in 2019 and the Championship play-offs a year later. He then left for Hull City before returning to the club 18 months later to lead them to the Championship title and a miraculous escape from Premier League relegation.

UEFA take action over possible Conference League opponents

UEFA have launched an investigation into an incident between coaches at Bodo/Glimt and Roma ahead of the second leg between Leicester City’s potential Europa Conference League semi-final opponents.

European football’s governing body have stepped in following accusations of physical violence from both sides after the quarter-final first leg last Thursday, which the Norwegian side won 2-1. While they investigate, they have suspended both Glimt’s manager Kjetil Knutsen and Roma goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos.

The incident occurred outside the two dressing rooms after the game, with both clubs releasing statements to accuse the other of the alleged attack. In their press release, Glimt said they had reported Santos to Norwegian police, and had passed on video to Uefa, adding that Roma were “bombarding the media with untruths”.
