Google just made comparing phone specs ridiculously easy

Google just made comparing phone specs ridiculously easy Google just made it super easy to compare device specs. Now, typing something like ‘Google Pixel 2 XL vs iPhone X’ into search will bring up a table comparing specs and customer reviews for various devices. Android Police spotted the change over the weekend.Right now, the feature seems to work best with smartphones. While I get results for other smartphone comparisons like “OnePlus 5 vs Galaxy S8,” I don’t see anything if I type “Surface Pro vs MacBook Pro” and get a comparison, for instance.

The bad news is that if you didn’t drop 9 back in early October, sight-unseen, and now you’re regretting that decision, it’ll be over a month until new Pixel Bud orders start shipping , according to Google ’ s retail site.

Google tried to do a sleight of hand and distract disappointed users with the seemingly magical Pixel Buds , Google ’ s answer to the Apple AirPods. Those earbuds have started shipping to early buyers, and one, in particular, was kind enough to make it known on Reddit.

It might feel like Google is following Apple’s script right now: remove the headphone jack from your flagship phone, ship the phone with a depressingly bad dongle adapter, and announce a new pair of revolutionary Bluetooth headphones to divert the you-caused frustrations of your customers into additional retail transactions. But Google took things to a whole new level with the Pixel 2: it didn’t even include a cheap pair of USB-C headphones. For all I know, many Pixel 2 owners have never even heard music.

Well, the silence is finally coming to an end. As reported on Android Police and 9to5Google, early orders of Google Pixel Buds are now shipping. From shipping confirmation screenshots, it appears the $159 headphones will arrive somewhere around the middle of this week.

Google Assistant can ID that song for you

Google Assistant can ID that song for you You don't need to have a Pixel 2 to get a built-in song identifier anymore: Google has finally given Assistant the ability to compete with Shazam. Next time you hear a nice tune playing, you can simply ask Assistant "What song is this?" and it will reply with the title and artist. It will also toss in an info card with the title of the album where you can find the track, the date it was released and embedded links to Search, YouTube and Play that make it easier to get the song or to listen to it again.
