Samsung might be working on its biggest Android update release ever

Samsung might be working on its biggest Android update release ever Samsung isn’t known for delivering fast Android updates to its devices, and it usually takes more time for the non-flagship models to get upgraded. The latest Galaxy S and Note models are usually the first devices to get Google’s newest Android flavor, after several months of beta tests. We thought the same thing would happen this year with the Galaxy S10 and Note 10. Samsung kicked off the Android 10 beta program a few weeks ago, earlier than expected, with the final update supposed to hit stores at some point in early 2020.

The Galaxy Fold was a heavily guarded secret until the day Samsung decided to show a glimpse of it to the world, and if the company had something similar A leak from the Chinese website Weibo has revealed live images of the Galaxy Fold 2 , Samsung ’ s clamshell foldable phone that it is going to

No sooner than Samsung foists a new foldable phone upon us next month after last year’s debacle that was the original Galaxy Fold — in the form of the Galaxy Z Flip, which will be officially revealed on February 11 — it seems that yet another foldable phone from Samsung will still be right around the corner.

The “true” successor to last year’s original Fold (“true” being how leaker Max Weinbach has referred to the coming device we’re referring to) is what’s been unofficially dubbed the Galaxy Fold 2. And if Max’s information is to be believed, Samsung is apparently set to unveil it sometime in the second quarter. But not only that — Weinbach, of XDA Developers, is predicting the device to launch with an ultra-thin glass display as well as S Pen support.

Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 could be a surprisingly affordable foldable phone

Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 could be a surprisingly affordable foldable phone According to a new rumor, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 could cost half the price of its predecessor. Same price as the Galaxy S11?That's great news for people who want to own a folding phone, as the current 'affordable' bending device, the Motorola Razr, costs $1,500 / €1599 (around £1,350, AU$2,000), so it's not that cheap. The leaked Galaxy Fold 2 price would see it cost around the same as the Galaxy S10 did at launch, and it would make the foldable phone cheaper than Galaxy S10 5G which launched in South Korea in August 2019 for 1.39 million Won.

The Galaxy Fold 2 will be unveiled in about a month , as Samsung has confirmed The Galaxy Fold turned out to be an embarrassment for Samsung , but a new leak makes the Fold 2 sound exciting to anyone who’s been following all the recent leaks detailing Samsung ’ s upcoming clamshell foldable.

Samsung is a company that is very clearly at the top of its game. I’m typically reticent when it comes to heaping praise on an experimental device, or something I’m yet to fully test out. This is also the second time in as many months Samsung has impressed me with one of its innovative products.

This timing is intriguing, because it would mean that Samsung will definitely have a first half of 2020 that’s jam-packed with prominent releases. This means we would be getting the Fold 2 not long after Samsung unveils its much anticipated Galaxy S20 series as well as the Galaxy Z Flip — which these fan renderings suggest will most likely have an absolutely gorgeous design that improves on Samsung’s first foldable in so many ways.

The way 2020 is shaping up already for the company reminds us of one Samsung executive’s promise that we told you about back in 2018. About how the company would get to a release cadence that produces new foldable handsets every year similar to its regular release schedule for Galaxy flagship devices. There’s still much we don’t know about this newest foldable, such as details relating to screen resolution and battery capacity, but there’s no reason to think it won’t be an all-around premium device — if Samsung indeed wants this to be the heir to the original Fold. Price will certainly be one of the most interesting details to watch for, especially considering the Galaxy Z Flip will come with a rumored $1,300 price tag (less than a top-of-the-line iPhone 11 Pro Max), so, presumably, the Fold 2 will cost more than that, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Here’s why foldable phone displays can be scratched so easily .
As exciting as foldable devices might be, the hard truth right now is that smartphone makers are in no position to manufacture glass that can bend over and over without breaking. The Galaxy Fold, Huawei Mate X, Motorola Razr, and Galaxy Z Flip feature fragile screens that break easier than traditional smartphone displays. The Z Flip is causing a stir, as it happens to be the world’s only foldable phone to feature a foldable screen made of glass rather than a transparent polymer. Yet, durability tests suggest that Samsung may have been generous with its Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) claims.
