From a technical point of view, this is nothing more than routine. In the "maintenance mode", version 22H2 from Windows 11 has been located for many weeks and several cumulative updates have already been delivered to the insiders. The update KB5017389 with the OS Build 22621.607 is therefore on

The Windows 10 version 22H2 was published in October, just a few weeks later Microsoft declares this update as " ready for the broad distribution ". This is the starting signal for the rollout in companies, and it is also the last "functional update" for Windows 10, which company has to use.

I used the quotes because 22H2 is not a functional update, it does not contain any changes compared to version 21h2. Why Microsoft swafels from a "focused and optimized" update in the announcement and does not simply say "We counted the number for reasons of support lifecycle" remains the secret of the Redmonder. Everyone knows that Windows 10 is a discontinued model and will no longer experience serious changes.

Microsoft gives itself a jerk: The Task Manager returns to the Task bar of Windows 11 back

Microsoft gives itself a jerk: The Task Manager returns to the Task bar of Windows 11 back © provided by Dr. Windows Taskbar in Windows 11 The taskbar is one of the areas that strive to simplify Windows 11 of Microsoft's most affected. Microsoft has long resisted to correct this radical cure, but now you move, if only a little bit. With the current Windows 11 Insider Build 25211 in the Developer Canal, the call of the task manager returns right -clicking the taskbar. So far, this context menu has been practical, it only contained a link to the settings of the taskbar.

This is a good sign for companies, because no risks are associated with the rollout of the version 22H2. And because a support cycle of 36 months applies to Windows 10 Enterprise, this means that version 22H2 is supplied with security updates until the support of Windows 10 ends in October 2025 anyway.

The question is whether Microsoft adds other fake feature updates for Windows 10 or whether you simply let it. Then, however, one would have to expand the support cycles of Windows 10 Home and Pro from currently to 24 months 36 months. Or you will publish a patch in the coming autumn that will change the version number to 23h2 - in this case you would have to shorten the support cycle for Windows 10 Enterprise. How it is ultimately regulated does not matter.

The new Outlook for Windows now supports several accounts .

So far, however, you could only use one account in the preview, which has now changed. After an update to the new version, several accounts can be created. However, it remains that only Microsoft accounts can be set up, whether business or privately. The support of external email providers is still missing in the new Outlook. © provided by Dr.
