West Midlands Police said the Fiesta had failed to stop for officers a short time before the crash. The wreckage of the two cars was found by police at 9.42pm and the woman was taken to hospital where she later died.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash on the A470 .

Three people have been taken to hospital following the at 6.30pm.

One person is understood to have suffered serious injuries.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene after one person is understood to have become trapped in one of the vehicles.

The road is currently closed in both directions and J19 of the A55 has also been blocked off.

North Wales Police remain at the scene while investigations are carried out.

They are now urgently appealing for anybody who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Police issue update on campsite incident that left woman fighting for life after car hit tents Three others were also injured at the Rhyd y Galen campsite near Caernarfon ploughed into their tents in the early hours of Monday morning. North Wales Police say one of the women remains in a critical condition in hospital while the other three campers have now been discharged. The two men arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol are still in custody. Officers are continuing to appeal for any witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact them.

A post published on the North Wales Police Facebook page, says: "Urgent appeal for witness to the road traffic accident on the A470 near Tal-Y-Cafn at 6.30pm today.

More incidents on the road today:

"Witness or Dash Cam footage of the accident or events leading up to the incident, please call NWP on 101 and quote reference X123826."

A spokesman for the force, said: "We are still dealing with the incident that involved two vehicles. The road is still closed due to ongoing investigations.

"One person is in hospital with serious injuries. A further two people have also been taken to hospital.

"The road will be closed for some time."

A spokeswoman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, added: "We attended a crash on the A470 at 18:32 following reports one person was trapped inside a vehicle."

Two crews from Colwyn Bay and Conwy attended the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Wales Polie on 101, quoting reference X123826.

Five tourists killed in bus crash near New Zealand attraction.
Five Chinese tourists have died and six others have been injured in a bus crash near a popular tourist resort on New Zealand's North Island. Police said 27 people were on board the vehicle when it rolled over on State Highway 5, about 20 minutes north of Rotorua, at around 11am local time on Wednesday. Inspector Brent Crowe told a news conference the bus was travelling south towards the town, which is known for its geothermal activity including geysers and mud pools, as well as its Maori culture, when it lost control at a bend.
