However Mr Mohammed could not be saved and died at the scene from the catastrophic injury.

Judge Heather Norton, sentencing Pervaiz, said: 'Why you made the terrible decision to stab Nadeem Mohammed, only you will know.

'There is evidence to suggest that you believed, quite wrongly and without any foundation at all, that your wife had formed a relationship with Mr Mohammed. You reached that conclusion despite efforts from your wife and family to do everything they could to convince you that your suspicions were all in your mind.

'The fact that you deliberately chose to purchase a knife, to remove it from its packaging and wait for 13 minutes, is wholly consistent with a decision by you to stab him deliberately and CCTV shows that you approached him from behind and deliberately stabbed him. He posed no threat to you whatsoever.'

Mr Mohammed's father, Hameed Uddin, said: 'It should be given a thought as to how a friend could murder his friend. By doing this, Aqib has given a very strange proof of friendship.

'Only Allah knows whatever myself and my family are passing through - I have no words to describe it to you.

'You people who are also parents, image the funeral of a youthful man in front of his father and he has also been murdered for no reason and the murder is pre-planned.

'I am now scared that I have to say to my children not to make friends. I am really scared of the word of friendship, because Aqib was a friend of Nadeen.'

From the start of 2019, Mr Blake told the court, Pervaiz' suspicions developed into paranoia and he started to suggest his daughter was not his.

Britain's worst female paedophile Vanessa George is released from prison after serving 10 years for abusing up to 30 nursery children George, 49, a former nursery worker, was jailed for a minimum of seven years in 2009 after she sexually abused up to 30 babies and toddlers in her care in Plymouth.

2 years after his release from jail he murdered Maureen Stepan in her flat in Bradford in 1995[16]. Michael Sams was jailed for her murder [ 27 ]. Stuart Jack, 22 , was jailed for life for her murder . Debbie Buchan, 18, and Leigh McKinnon, 18, were both jailed for 9 years for attempted murder .[116].

Ex-nurse, 27 , who pretended to be a man to pursue online relationships with ten women including a model who exposed her lies is jailed for 22 months for An earlier hearing also heard how Rennie fooled a colleague into believing she was having a five-month relationship with one of the male doctor

A meeting between Pervaiz and Mr Mohammed, arranged by Mrs Pervaiz and mediated by her uncle, temporarily put the matter to rest, and Mr Blake told the court Pervaiz had later texted his work friend saying, simply: 'sorry, sorry, sorry.'

However, he returned to his earlier belief - which, Mr Blake told the court, police had found no evidence, in phone records or online chat history, to support - to the point where his wife helped him write a resignation letter for him to take into Poundland and they planned to move to Birmingham to start life new.

On May 8, Pervaiz asked his wife to drop him off to buy some 'cheap cigarettes' in Slough town centre, while his whole family were fasting during Ramadan.

Judge Norton told Pervaiz: 'You did buy the cigarettes as intended but having done so, you did not go home. Instead, you went first to Santander bank, where you withdrew a large amount of money.

'From there, you then went to Tesco supermarket in Slough, where you chose and purchased a knife. Having made that purchase, you took that knife with you to the supermarket carpark, where you waited for 13 minutes.

'It is quite clear that you were waiting in that car park for Nadeem Mohammed, a former friend and work colleague. Whilst waiting, you telephoned him three times, and telephone records show that those three calls made from that car park connected. What it is that you spoke about during that time is however unknown.'

After carrying out the killing, the court heard, Pervaiz had paid £140 for a cab to Birmingham where he then surrendered to police the following day. He gave no comment interviews at Maidenhead police station.

Gary Bell QC, defending said: 'He is a man from a very good family and a man who has been eaten up inside by the belief that the man he killed was having an affair with his wife and that belief was what has led us all to court today.'

The lawyer added that Pervaiz had admitted murder on September 6 and was entitled to a reduction in his sentence.

Judge Norton sentenced Pervaiz, who had short, dark hair and a beard, to a life sentence with a minimum term of 22 years in jail and told him he would be on licence for the rest of his life.
