Young boy killed in tragic Limerick crash named locally The young boy who was killed in a crash in Limerick has bee named locally as Dion Ryan. The child was airlifted to hospital from the scene of the crash to University Hospital Limerick, where he was pronounced dead. 

Police have named the woman pedestrian killed in a crash with a car at the intersection of Dundas and Great King Streets in Dunedin last night. Police extended their sympathies to her family and friends. The Serious Crash Unit investigation is continuing.

Police have named the pedestrian killed on State Highway 1 near Tokoroa on Tuesday. He was Robert Charles Farrar, 20, of Tokoroa. Mr Farrar died after he was hit by a truck between Rolletts and Tamatea Rds. The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and the matter has been referred to the coroner.

A woman in her 70s has died following a one vehicle crash in Co Tyrone this morning.

Police have named the victim, who was walking along the Quintinmanus Road between Edendork and Newmills at the time, as Bridget Currie.

A second woman, also a pedestrian, is being treated in hospital for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

The driver of the car was not hurt in the crash.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police can confirm that a female pedestrian, aged in her 70s, has died following a road traffic collision on the Quintinmanus Road outside Dungannon this morning, Sunday 15 September.

"Inspector Brown is appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Quintinmanus Road this morning and who witnessed the collision or anyone who has any dash cam footage of the collision to contact local officers in Dungannon or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference 810 15/09/19."

The Quintinmanus Road remains closed at this time.
