A dog was killed following a crash involving a bus and other vehicles near Mold , police have confirmed.

North Wales Police said the pet died at the scene of a collision on the A541 at Hendre, between Mold and Nannerch, on Monday, October 21.

It is understood the dog was not travelling in any of the vehicles involved in the collision.

Police officers have been searching for a white Citroen Berlingo van which was in the area before the crash happened.

Emergency services closed the busy road for more than three hours following the collision.

Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to deal with the incident last week and one person was taken to hospital.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We responded with three ambulances and three rapid response vehicles.

"Two patients were discharged at the scene and one patient was transported to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Their injuries were not thought to be serious.

Police have said that they are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward following the incident.
