Dozens of Scots holiday makers injured in a bus crash at a Spanish airport have successfully sued budget airline Jet2.

Thirty-three passengers were injured shortly after arriving for a winter break in Tenerife from Glasgow.

A transfer bus ferrying passengers from the Jet2 plane to the Tenerife South terminal was hit by a lorry carrying concrete pillars.

The impact left dozens with a range of injuries including broken limbs and cuts from flying glass.

Several passengers were left in hospital while others had their winter breaks ruined.

“After a few moments I had to calm my wife down as we realised we’d been hit by the lorry.

“There was mass panic, people were really frightened as we didn’t know what was going on. We managed to get out of the bus after the driver opened the doors but people were really scared.”
