Two people have been arrested after a car allegedly crashed into a police car before driving off.

Police said that the incident occurred on the Keady Road in Newtownhamilton early on Saturday morning.

A man aged 22 was arrested after a pursuit, police claimed, while a second man, aged 24, was arrested around 30 minutes later.

PSNI Chief Inspector Barney O’Connor said: “As police officers were on mobile patrol on Keady Road in Newtownhamilton they were alerted about a Black Audi vehicle that was reportedly first observed at around 2.10am being driven with excessive speed.

“At around 2.45am, the vehicle was observed on the Armagh Road. Police signalled for the driver to stop using their blue flashing lights but, as the Audi continued on, it collided with the police car and then drove off.

East Belfast police pursuit ends with injuries to a number of officers and three arrests .
A man and two women have been arrested after a number of police officers were injured during a pursuit in East Belfast yesterday evening. The suspects aged 26, 32 and 27 have all been arrested on a number of drugs related offences after a large number of tablets were found in the vehicle. It's understood six officers were injured during the incident. Police say they received a report of a hit and run traffic collision on Ravenhill Road at around 4.40pm on Saturday, November 16. A short time later police say they observed the offending vehicle on the Saintfield Road and signalled it to stop.
