Police say at around 1.45am this morning, Novmber 17, it was reported that some form of altercation was taking place at a house in Windmill Gardens area of Ballynahinch. A man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment for a number of stab wounds where his condition is described as stable. A 22-year-old woman and 3 men, aged 20, 26 and 40, have been arrested and remain in police custody at this time.

Police in County Down are dealing with an attempted cash machine theft at a petrol station. The incident happened on the Belfast Road in Ballynahinch . Translink has said that bus services have been diverted, with no stops served between Ballynahinch library and Temple.

Three men have been arrested following the attempted theft of an ATM machine in Ballynahinch on Monday.

The suspects aged 24, 25 and 26 were arrested by detectives in the Saintfield area.

Substantial damage was caused to the petrol station during the foiled bid to steal the ATM which resulted in the roof of the forecourt collapsing.

Detective Inspector Handley said: "We have arrested three men aged 24, 25 and 26-years old. All three men were arrested in the Saintfield area on suspicion of burglary (non dwelling), criminal damage endangering life with intent and aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to property.
