A pedestrian has been struck by a bus in Glasgow City Centre .

Emergency services rushed to Killermont Street , close to Buchanan Bus Station, at around 4.40pm after receiving reports that a man had been knocked down.

He was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary .

His injuries are currently unknown.

The busy road is currently closed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "Police were called to Killermont Street, near John Lewis, at 4.40pm this afternoon after reports of an accident involving a male edestrian and a bus.

"An ambulance also attended and there are no updates on injuries."

The 43-year-old man was struck by a white Ford Transit van that was found a short time after the incident by cops in Blyth Gardens, Kirkcaldy. The male was rushed to the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh where he remains in a critical condition after sustaining a serious head injury . Following the collision a 41-year-old man was arrested in connection. Sergeant Nicola Young, of the Fife Road Policing Unit , said: "We are working to establish the full circumstances of this crash and would urge anyone who may have seen a white van just before the collision or afterwards to get in touch.
