A man was being quizzed last night after the sudden death of a baby.

The ambulance service was called to an incident involving an 11-month-old boy at a house in Keady before 11am on Tuesday morning.

In a brief statement on Tuesday evening police confirmed that the child had died and that a man had been arrested.

Sinn Fein MLA Cathal Boylan said that he had spoken to a family member and said that they have been left distraught.

He told Belfast Live: “I called down to see a family member to offer support. Clearly they’re absolutely devastated, the whole family is devastated.

“It’s stunned the whole community here. The family is going through a very very hard time. To lose a child is absolutely devastating.
