  Police in Bangor investigating 'suspicious' death A post mortem will be carried outA man, 68, was found dead at his home in the town's Birch Drive on Tuesday evening (Nov 19).

Police have released footage of the final movements of a Co Down murder victim in a bid to track down his killers.

Michael 'Mike' Kerr, was attacked at his home in Birch Drive in Bangor , and was found dead on Tuesday, November 19.

The 68-year-old may have been attacked by someone he knew, police said.

On Wednesday, detectives released CCTV footage showing Mr Kerr going about his daily routine.

This included travelling on a bus and doing his shopping. He was last seen by a neighbour entering his own home at 2pm on Sunday. This was the last time he was seen alive.

Detective Chief Inspector Michelle Shaw told media that she believes Mr Kerr was killed between 2pm on Sunday and 9.15am on Monday.

  Bangor murder investigation launched after man found dead at his home Police are appealing for witnessesMichael ‘Mike’ Kerr was discovered at the property on Tuesday, but police investigating the ‘suspicious death’ tonight announced they are treating the incident as murder.

She said: “Mike received some very sustained and serious injuries.”

The detective said that she is working on two theories: that he interrupted intruders or that it was a personal vendetta or grudge.

Mr Kerr was previously a BBC NI announcer and was a widower having lost his wife around 15 years ago.
