The unnamed boy was arrested in connection with the incident on Sunday and remains in police custody.

He said: "Our thoughts are with the boy’s family as they come to terms with their loss and specially trained family liaison officers will be providing them with support. We believe this is an isolated incident involving people known to each other.

In a separate incident also on Saturday, an 18-year-old male is recovering after he was stabbed in an incident in South Bristol.

Police said they are investigating the attack, which happened in Queens Road in Bishopsworth, towards Withywood, just before 6.45pm.

The two incidents are not believed to be related.

Police have arrested a suspected eastern European gangster after the deaths of two men in north London on Thursday. Officers from the Metropolitan Police launched a double murder investigation after the eastern European nationals were found with stab wounds near Scratchwood Park, Barnet. Police were called shortly after 8:10pm to reports of a fight in Courtland Avenue and an injured 30-year-old man was found in the boot of a car shortly afterwards.A 31-year-old man at the scene, initially taken to hospital with injuries, was later arrested on suspicion of murder, and remains in custody.
