As the UK recovers from the effects of Storm Ciara, which brought gusts of up to 97mph last weekend and caused disruption across the country, the Met Office have warned Storm Dennis is on the way. As well as the power outages and travel disruption, Storm Ciara caused a number of races to be cancelled, including the Winter 10K run, but what does Storm Dennis mean for your running plans this weekend?

When will Storm Dennis hit?

The Met Office have said that they do not believe Storm Dennis will be as severe as Storm Ciara, but have still forecast winds of more than 60mph. A national severe weather warning for wind has been issued for much of England and Wales, with further warnings being expected in the next few days.

Our confidence in the forecast means we have been able to issue severe weather warnings well in advance, giving people time to prepare for potential impacts of the storm.

“With further warnings possible over the next few days people should keep up to date with the Met Office forecast using our website, app or by following us on social media.”
