A man has been left fighting for his life after a knife attack in east London on Sunday.

Scotland Yard said police were called at 4.24pm to Sandringham Road, Barking, to reports of a stabbing.

The victim, a man in his mid-twenties, is in a critical condition in an east London hospital.

London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the incident, and a crime scene is in place.

Police said two males have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

An earlier tweet from Barking and Dagenham police said that multiple people had been stabbed.

The incident is not being treated as terror related.A 29-year-old man, who is believed to have been attending prayers at London Central Mosque in Regent’s Park, central London, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at the scene on Thursday.
