  Pedestrian dies after being hit by car while walking on M8 in Glasgow Rangers and Hamilton fans were warned of heavy queues after emergency services moved to close the road after the serious crash on Wednesday night.The 41-year-old man was spotted on the eastbound carriageway near to the slip from the M77 when he was hit by a Vauxhall Astra at around 7.25pm on Wednesday night.

The body of a 24-year-old woman has been found in a flat after a fire broke out on the 18th floor of the building. Firefighters and police were called to the scene in the Maryhill area of Glasgow at about 0630 GMT. The high rise block , in Glenavon Road, was evacuated and an investigation is under way

A woman's body has been found near a block of flats in Glasgow.

Officers from Police Scotland and paramedics were called to Dundasvale Court in the Cowcaddens area of the city on Monday night at around 10.45pm.

Sadly the 37-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene .

The death of the female is not being treated as suspicious by police .

Enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "We received a report of a woman's body found on Dundasvale Court, Glasgow , around 10.45pm last night.

"The 37-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing however her death is not being treated as suspicious."
