Tom Hanks in talks to play Geppetto in live-action Pinocchio

Tom Hanks in talks to play Geppetto in live-action Pinocchio From Toy Story's Woody to Pinocchio's wood-workerAccording to Deadline,  talks are still in the very early stages, but Hanks has read the script and expressed interest in the role to director Robert Zemeckis. Apparently, Hanks has always been one of Disney's top picks for the role and was approached in 2018 when Paul King was attached as director, but to no avail. Zemeckis and Hanks have worked together as a director/lead actor duo on Forrest Gump, Cast Away, and Polar Express, so the odds for Hanks' casting are better this time around.

The Dutchman, in a Q&A with Bleacher Report, admitted that he is weighing up the likelihood of hitting his appearance targets this upcoming season, after featuring just the three times for Jurgen Klopp’s side last year. Many at Liverpool, including Klopp, see Hoever as one of the most exciting prospects at the club and certainly one for the future but his game time may be limited next season. He said: “It’s important that I play games on the highest level possible.

Marvel's Avengers

Release date: September 4, 2020

Xbox boss Phil Spencer is going on the Animal Crossing talk show

Xbox boss Phil Spencer is going on the Animal Crossing talk show Two worlds collide in the next episode of Gary Whitta's Animal TalkingHosted by Gary Whitta, known for writing Telltale's The Walking Dead and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Animal Talking has featured high-profile celebrities including Elijah Wood, Brie Larson, and Selena Gomez. It's structured a lot like classic late-night talk shows ala The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and the Larry Sanders Show, with the obvious distinction of taking place within Nintendo's latest Animal Crossing title. Whitta told GamesRadar+ around the time of the show's premiere that his love of those shows is what inspired him to host his own.

Genre: Action adventure

Buy: Marvel's Avengers pre-orders

What is it? Crystal Dynamics' own take on Marvel's Avengers.

What to look out for: Who doesn't want to be a superhero? With a cast of playable characters including Iron Man, Ms Marvel, Hulk and more, Marvel's Avengers looks super awesome. It's going to play a bit like Destiny, but with superheroes instead of Guardian classes, with multiplayer content releasing for months, if not years, after release. These might not be the faces of the MCU's Avengers, but we're intrigued to see what Crystal Dynamics does with the Marvel crew.

Cyberpunk 2077

Release date: November 19, 2020

Genre: RPG

Buy: Cyberpunk 2077 pre-orders

What is it? The Witcher meets Deus Ex in a sci-fi RPG where advanced technology has both cured and cursed humanity.

What to look out for: And you thought The Witcher was big. CD Projekt RED has already confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 "far, far bigger" than Geralt's last hurrah, another open-world RPG taken from an unusual source - in this case a pen-and-paper role playing game last heard of a decade ago. You'll explore an open world called Night City in the first-person perspective, encountering all kinds of friendly or hostile NPCs and trying to fend for yourself in this technologically advanced future.

PS5's Xbox Series X-beating feature is 'just amazing' says God of War director PS5 games are going to be full of 'surprises' teases God of War's Cory BarlogWhile Microsoft's console is packing more power, because of the strategy the tech giant is adopting to ensure its next-gen games are backwards compatible, so that gamers don't need to upgrade immediately, its hardware advantage is negated somewhat.

Halo Infinite

Release date: Holiday 2020

Genre: Action adventure

What is it? The next-gen, next stage adventure for Master Chief and co.

What to look out for: It's still a few months off, but 343 Industries' follow-up to 2015's Halo 5 is coming, and it'll be a simultaneous release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X. The first Halo Infinite trailer almost seems to suggest that Master Chief's next adventure will have touches of MMO and sandbox gameplay, or at least be more open-ended. We can't wait.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Release date: November, 2020

Genre: Open-world RPG

Buy: Assassin's Creed Valhalla pre-orders

What is it? The Viking-centric next entry in the long-running Assassin's Creed series.

What to look out for: The latest Assassin's Creed epic puts you in the boots of viking raider Eivor, who's leading a Viking expansion into Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. Valhalla will be another open-world RPG with a parallel story running in modern times, focusing on Layla Hassan from Origins and Odyssey. Set to address some of the feedback on Origins and Odyssey while implementing new features all its own, Valhalla looks to be another promising evolution of the series. It's also one of a list of confirmed games supported by the Xbox Series X Smart Delivery program, so it'll be a nice bump in visuals and performance for the next-gen hardware.

“Kicker”: Pohjanpalo comes back on the market

“Kicker”: Pohjanpalo comes back on the market © Robert Michael / dpa-Zentralbild / dpa Hamburg's Joel Pohjanpalo laughs after the game. The name Joel Pohjanpalo has a good ring in Hamburg. Now the fans of the second division soccer club Hamburger SV are listening carefully. Because the 25-year-old Finn from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, who was borrowed from Hamburg in the second half of the season and scored nine goals in 14 games, should soon be back on the market. The «Kicker» reports in its current issue.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2

Release date: Holiday 2020

Genre: Adventure

What is it? A surprise sequel to Hellblade coming to Xbox Series X.

What to look out for: Okay, so technically this is really for our list of upcoming Xbox Series X games, but we have a sneaking suspicion it may well also launch across the Xbox One family too. The sequel, called Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is a bit of a mystery right now, as all we've had for it is a slightly unnerving teaser trailer, which involves face paint / blood, scary singing and chanting, and more disembodied arms with fingers trying to grab at you. Nightmarish. It all suggests another harrowing journey for our troubled hero.

Gods and Monsters

Release date: TBC 2020

Genre: Adventure

What is it? A new adventure set in a Greek world of mythology from the creators of Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

What to look out for: Announced at E3 2019, Gods and Monsters is a brand new storybook adventure from the team behind Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which will bring us a brand new, fantastical adventure based on the stories found in Greek mythology. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

Release date: TBC 2020

OneCast Episode 88: Live tonight from 8:30 p.m.

OneCast Episode 88: Live tonight from 8:30 p.m. © Provided by Dr. Windows OneCast Will this possibly become a habit? Tonight at 8:30 p.m., the 88th edition of OneCast will go live on air. It is already the third broadcast in the 14-day cycle, we haven't been able to do that for a long time. A lot has happened in the last two weeks, from the deepening of the cooperation between Microsoft and Samsung to the reorganization of the Windows area to the launch of the Surface Duo and the pre-launch of Xbox cloud gaming.

Genre: RPG

What is it? A vampire RPG - need we say more?

What to look out for: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 throws you into the seedy underbelly of Seattle where creatures roam, but thankfully you're a vampire. Turned as an act of vampire terrorism during the 'Mass Embrace', you'll soon get caught up in vampire faction politics, where you're still just trying to deal with your new way of life. This is an RPG at its core too, filled with player choices, a strong narrative, and branching dialogue options too.

Watch Dogs Legion

Release date: October 29 2020

Genre: Action adventure

Buy: Watch Dogs Legion pre-orders

What is it? An action-packed hacking adventure set in post-Brexit London, in a hopefully alt-future for Blighty.

What to look out for: Years after the UK pulls out of the EU, London is facing quite the dystopian future, and Watch Dogs Legion puts you straight in the middle of it. You're building a Dedsec team in a city where hackers and drone run rife, but you'll have your pick of whoever you want for your own crew. Yes, literally everyone. Absolutely every NPC in London is available to recruit, and then become a playable character, ranging from a slick East London geezer, to a parkouring grandma. This could be in the most interesting game in years.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Release date: October 20, 2020

Genre: Action adventure / Lego

What is it? All nine Star Wars films remade in one Lego game. Epic.

What to look out for: The Star Wars / Lego crossovers have consistently delivered blocky brilliance, but this is going to be something else. Being able to play every Star Wars movie in one ultimate compendium is going to be amazing, especially when you consider that this isn't a remaster of the original Lego Star Wars game, but brand new games with graphics that blend realistic elements with Lego blocks and figures, with constant splashes of developer TT Games' trademark humour. Just watch the trailer and tell me I'm wrong.

Pixelated again: BVB presents new tournament jersey for 2020/21

Pixelated again: BVB presents new tournament jersey for 2020/21 Borussia Dortmund has presented its new tournament jersey for the 2020/21 season. New BVB Dress: Jersey for DFB Cup and Champions League. On the yellow jersey with black collar, in which BVB will appear in the DFB-Pokal and in the Champions League, the pixel elements can be found, which also adorn the new third jersey of the Dortmund. According to BVB announcement, they are inspired by the flying pictures on the Dortmunder U, the city's landmark.

Rainbow Six Quarantine

Release date: TBC 2020

Genre: Action

What is it? A brand new three-player tactical co-op FPS set within the Rainbow Six universe.

What to look out for: Rather than existing as a spin-off of the highly successful Rainbow Six Siege, this is actually a new game entirely. Rainbow Six Quarantine is is a brand new three-player co-op PVE multiplayer title, where you play as Rainbow Operators facing off against a mutated alien parasite that's started infecting the human race. Yum.

Twin Mirror

Release date: TBC 2020

Genre: Psychological thriller

What is it? A new narrative-led game from Dontnod Entertainment, the developer behind Life is Strange.

What to look out for: There's something unusual about Sam, and it's not just the fact he's just found his shirt covered in blood in his hotel room. He's also got an alter-ego, known as The Double, who acts as his advisor, representing the self-confidence he himself lacks. But, wait, there's more. As Sam tries to work out what happened on the night of his best friend's funeral, he uses his unique memory visualisation ability - entering his own mind palace - to reconstruct locations and crime scenes, to solve puzzles, find solutions to mysteries, and more as he comes across them and pieces together the story. You'll switch between real locations and Sam's mind to uncover the full story.

Spiritfarer

Release date: TBC 2020

Genre: Management sim

What is it? A management game about helping the deceased reach the afterlife.

What to look out for: A management sim about helping dead people find a way into the afterlife sounds like it should either be really morbid, or really dull. But it's neither. It's a sweet, wholesome game where you play as Stella, the ferrymaster for the deceased who must build a boat to home the spirits on their final journey, befriend them, understand their stories, care for them and eventually see them on their way. And there are times where you'll just be going about your own business too, fishing, collecting lightning, farming and more. Spiritfarer has got it all.

Skull and Bones

Release date: TBC 2021

Genre: Pirate ship sim

What is it? A naval combat game themed around pirates and being a pirate.

What to look out for: Although it's been delayed, and delayed, into 2020, you should still be excited about Skull and Bones. Taking inspiration, and source material, from the naval combat sections of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Skull and Bones is all about making masts crumble into matchsticks, bringing multiplayer to that watery combat with big boats and a lot of loot. There's a single-player campaign too, where you can practice your best Jack Sparrow impression, we're just not sure when you'll actually get to play it.

Dying Light 2

Release date: TBC

Genre: RPG / Survival horror

What is it? A sequel to the ever-popular Dying Light.

What to look out for: Parkouring zombie killing is the name of the game in Dying Light, and you're about to do it all again in Dying Light 2. Building on the success of the original, this game takes place 15 years after the first, with one human settlement still standing amongst the infected world. This one is leaning heavier into the RPG elements, with difficult choices to make that result in sacrifices and locking off parts of the map. You'll help some, and hinder others, but it'll be an exciting journey nonetheless. It's bigger, better and more brutal.

Beyond Good & Evil 2

Release date: TBC

Genre: Action-adventure, space exploration

What is it? The long (looooooong) awaited prequel to the last-last-gen classic.

What to look out for: Space monkeys. A vast sector of the universe to explore with your ever-expanding ship crew. Gameplay that scales from ground-level, action-adventure to full-scale, interstellar flight. A densely textured, philosophically fuelled civilisation that explores slavery, control, genetic engineering, cultural cross-pollination, and all the long-term, spiralling knock-on effects that come with that. Beyond Good & Evil 2 might have taken the best part of 15 years to appear, but Michel Ancel’s follow-up looks so, so much grander, more exciting, and more thoughtful than we ever imagined it could be.
