BBC Weather forecaster Carol Kirkwood warned wintry showers and snowfall were to be expected across the UK for the rest of the week.For the majority of the week, Britain will see cold arctic air, snow showers, rain and frosty starts to the day, albeit with some breaks of sunshine.
BBCTomaz Schafernaker said it will be a frosty start to the day across central and eastern England but will warm up later in the day. The weather is due to be "very calm and settled". Mr Schafernaker said: "The weekend is upon us and the weather is looking pretty good across most of the UK.
"The temperatures are going to rise a little bit. The mornings will still be fairly chilly.
"A frosty night but the temperatures will rise a few degrees compared to the last few days.
"High pressure close to the UK is keeping weather fronts at bay.

BRITAIN is bracing for a ferocious cold blast to grip the nation until the end of April as the latest forecasts suggest more snow is on the way.Temperatures could also drop to bitterly cold lows as -3C hits Scotland on Wednesday, April 21, while northern parts of England also shiver at 0C on the same day, including Carlisle, Newcastle and Scarborough.
"This evening and overnight it's a case of clear skies and a touch of frost across central and eastern areas of the UK.
"But where we have the breeze, it will keep things frost free.
"For Saturday it's a case of sunny skies for most of us.
"Out of the two days, Saturday is going to be sunnier.
"On Sunday, the weather fronts are moving closer which means we are going to see increasing amounts of cloud and the possibility of some light rain or drizzle."
A spokesman for the Met Office said: "The conditions tomorrow around Windsor are similar to many areas across the South East.
"We'll see highs of 15C, possibly 16C, in isolated spots. The conditions should be dry.

CAROL KIRKWOOD admitted the reason she would "look for something else" before she revealed her fear about being "sacked" from BBC Breakfast.The 58-year-old was discussing the ever-changing weather in the UK with her co-stars when she landed herself in hot water.
"There may be some light cloud but there will also be clear sunny spells.
"It will feel warm in the sunshine and should remain reasonably bright and not too windy during the day - in fact there won't be much of a breeze at all.
"Conditions will be very calm and settled."
Buckingham Palace previously said the Queen had to make "difficult decisions" about who would attend Prince Philip's funeral, due to Covid-19 restrictions limiting mourners.
The monarch will be sitting by herself in the quire of St George's Chapel, with all mourners following Covid guidelines and remaining socially distanced.
She will be joined by a lady-in-waiting for the short car journey to the place of worship from the Castle.
