Marlene Dietrich made John Wayne 'recite allegiance pledge with face between her thighs' JOHN WAYNE's co-star Marlene Dietrich made the Hollywood star "recite the pledge of allegiance" while she "held his head close to her thighs" in a bizarre encounter between the pair, unearthed accounts show.He added: "[T]here's not a moment of seriousness in it, not a detail that isn't performed with a surge of exaggeration, not a character that is credible.

Wayne Couzens has lost a Court of Appeal bid to reduce his sentence. The former Met Police officer is serving a rare whole-life sentence for the kidnap, rape, and murder of Sarah Everard.

Last year, Couzens was handed a whole-life term for the rape and murder of 33-year-old Sarah, the first time the sentence had been imposed for a single murder of an adult not committed in the course of a terror attack. Appealing against the whole-life term, Couzens’s lawyers argued he deserved “decades in jail” but said a whole-life term was excessive.

However, in a summary read out in court, Lord Burnett said that the sentencing judge was entitled to impose a whole life order due to the facts of Couzens’ case.
