Paying tribute to BR Ambedkar on his 127th birth anniversary, former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said that the country cannot forget his contributions.

Besides paying tribute, Akhilesh Yadav also spoke about the Unnao and Kathua gangrape cases during a press conference.

He said that incidents such as Kathua and Unnao are taking place across India and state governments should take strict actions against the perpetrators.

Attacking the Yogi government over the Unnao and Kathua gangrape case, Akhilesh pointed out that crimes have gone up since BJP came to power in Uttar Pradesh. "Crimes have been increasing since BJP has come to power," Akhilesh said.

When asked if he is satisfied after the Unnao gangrape case was handed over to the CBI, Akhilesh Yadav said, "We hope the truth will prevail."
