The E Palaniswami-led AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu has rejected a DMK request for M Karunanidhi’s ‘samadhi’ near Anna memorial on Marina beach in Chennai, citing legal issues.

The government, in a statement, said it is willing to give two acre land near Gandhi Mandapam in Adayar for Karunanidhi’s burial.

Karunanidhi’s son and acting DMK chief MK Stalin has said that he will again appeal to the state government to allow them to bury Kalaignar’s body near his mentor’s samadhi.
