Dakar, 6 September (Reuters) - Guinea reopened His land and air borders for trade and humanitarian exchanges announced Monday a spokesman for the army during an intervention broadcast by public television, after a coup attempt against President Alpha Condé.

A group of mutinous soldiers announced Sunday the eviction of the Guinean President, proclaimed the dissolution of the Constitution and the Government and introduced the closing of the borders of this country of nearly 13 million inhabitants.

But the Minister of Defense published Sunday night a statement claiming that an attack on the presidential palace had been repulsed.
