Four men remain in custody after being arrested in Dublin for conspiracy to murder as part of an investigation into the feud between the Hutch and Kinahan crime gangs. A firearm and silencer were also seized by gardaí in last night's operation in the north inner city.

Gardai have yet to confirm the man's identity but think he may be a young man in his 20s who had been reported missing yesterday.

The man was before the courts last month on firearms charges after a large quantity of ammunition was found in Finglas in Dublin last year.

At the time of the court case, the man was released on bail but his defence lawyer asked that his next court date not be read out in open court as there was "a threat on his life".

The man's car was located in Leixlip.

An incident room has been established at Ashbourne Garda Station and gardai say enquiries are ongoing.
